Ugh. I am trying to put a custom icon on this Flash projector file for distribution. On the Mac it's an easy thing involving cut and paste; on Windows it seems to be utterly impossible.
I have this executable and I have this .ico and I have no damn clue how to say "THIS EXE HAS THIS ICO". I found this program that CLAIMS to do this but it really looks like it's just a reskinning tool. Plus it wants me to give them money and, um, changing icons feels like something I really should be able to do as a fundamental part of the OS.
So: What is the Windows equivalent of 'copy image, click on file, get info, click on icon in info window and paste'?
I am sure it is something stupid that will make me slap myself on the head for having wasted twenty minutes chasing down over-complicated directions on the Internet.
edit: No, apparently is is not simple and stupid! But
Resource Hacker does the trick once I figured its interface out. Now I just have to get the right icon source files because they ended up not wanting to use the one I drew, and never actually informed me of this until now.
