[livejournal.com profile] tracerj did a 3-2-1-Contact inspired icon, but didn't nail the concentric hexagons to her satisfaction. I ended up thinking about how to do it enough that I tried it, then on a whim, recorded myself doing it.

The audio is just what my Powerbook's built-in mic could pick up while it's on my lap, so it's kinda low. Next time maybe I'll swipe Rik's headset or something. I also need to up the size of the keystroke display in the lower left. And maybe bring it into FCPro/iMovie for some post-production instead of just throwing Snapz' raw output onto Youtube.

Watch me forget which keys do which because I'm trying to talk at the same time!

"And it strikes me that I don't know a thing about global color swatches!" - [livejournal.com profile] ff00ff in the comments on my previous post
"Global color swatches are fucking awesome! They let me use a wonderfully-fluid color workflow I first did on Deluxe Paint back in '85 or so, that just kinda got lost in the transition from palettized displays to true-color displays." - me

So since the first one seemed to go over well, I made another quickie little video wherein I burble about how fucking awesome global color swatches are, and try to show you why.

Warning: contains me saying "fucking awesome" several times, and characterizations of other methods of changing a drawing's color palette as "a pain in the ass". Also the audio is still just being recorded by my laptop's little built-in mic because I'm lazy.
