I was just going to doodle some quickie shapes to try something on, but it turned into its own thing.

Problem: When scanning many multiple images in Photoshop, then using batch actions to drop out the pencils and save the image, I have to hit 'return' once or twice for every image - once to finish with the save dialogue, and possibly once more to deal with the options for the file format.

And I can't just hit 'return' a lot and go away, either, as it doesn't queue these keypresses up.

Solution: Applications/Image Capture.
Do devices->browse devices, select your scanner, and check 'Use TWAIN'.
Then do devices->your scanner. Decide where you want the images to go, click on the options and select 'multiple scans'. Finally, hitting 'scan' will open up your scanner driver's window, and you can scan to your heart's content.

Then of course you can point Photoshop at the resulting pile of files, do your clean-up batch processes, and so on. Without having to do so damn many 'okay' button presses. Yay!

This tip is only useful if you're animating, and using a Mac. But hey, you might need to do that. And if you're on Windows you might be able to find something similar in the pile of stuff your scanner installed...

(Also: a cheap optimization of the workflow of using Toon Boom to autotrace/color art, then get it into Flash: TB normally won't symbolize art upon exporting to Flash unless it's re-used twice. So once you've got everything traced and colored, just grab all the frames and duplicate them. Then export. Everything's a symbol now, saving a hell of a lot of the tedious symbolizing process.)
