flash ui haxxx
Sep. 28th, 2006 07:08 pmSo the past couple of days I've been experimenting with some other Flash plugins to make it HURT LESS for character animation.
A major source of these things is the Flash plugins forum at coldhardflash.com, a news site about pro Flash character animation.
* AnimSlider still really kicks ass; it has a lot of the old functionality of the Instance palette that's been folded into the hellish Inspector, and some new stuff besides.
* animationextensions has some cool-looking stuff, but I haven't been able to get them to work, for the most part. Which is a shame, because "Paperclips", "Camera", and "Export" are all things I've wished for for ever. (This is another IK tool but I haven't tried it.)
* Dave Logan's extensions - I'm using the 'keyframe jumper' and 'enter symbol at current frame'.
Flash being Flash, of course, half the problem with extensions is that their extension manager is balky, and will sometimes fail to work if you, say, try to install two extensions in one session - but quitting the manager and trying again will do the trick. Sometimes. Ahhh, feel that Macromedia quality!
I wonder if it'd be possible to make a 'cut sound at this frame' command. That's one of those features I've been annoyed at the lack of since forever - it's nigh-impossible to gab a chunk of a long sound because you have to wrestle Flash's obnoxious sound editor. (Looks like not! You can find out and edit everything about a sound except for the start point! Ah, that's Macromedia quality at work once more.)
