Oh, geeze. It's raining outside, with occasional flakes of snow coming down as well. And we have to go out in this, get a rental car, pack it with art, and drive to NY today. Crap. Good thing the con doesn't start until 6ish.

Welcome to your new career, Peggy.

My father showed up in my dreams last night. He didn't have much of anything to say. We watched this video that was on four screens but mostly constrained itself to one. I didn't really have anything to say to him either. A little while after we parted ways, I came back to the place he'd been in and ended up sitting down and crying for a minute or two.

It's been... about twenty-eight years since we found him dead on the kitchen floor. Somehow you'd think I'd be done aching over it, but it still hurts every now and then. At least it's not a constant hole in my life like it was for the first decade or so.

I feel like there's more to say here but nothing forms into words.

Guess I'd better get dressed.

Woo. Got back with the car to a storm of drones: there's a van from 'S HARDWOOD FLOORS (no, really, there's no name) parked outside. The apartment above us is being refurbed this weekend, it seems. I guess this was a good choice of times to be gone.

Still gotta pack up art, still gotta pack clothes. At least it quit raining/snowing for now. I just know I'm gonna forget something but oh well.

Made it to Long Island. In the hotel room. Later than we hoped but life is like that. Showered, and soon we're going to drag ourselves over to the art show, unload and hang three panel's worth, and then it's probably about time for my Illustrator demo.

Better get moving.
